Are You Alive If You Do Not Have Instagram?

I think I am not the only one person who was asked, "Hey, where are you? Are you okay? You did not post any story or photo on Instagram for the two months!" It does not have to be only Instagram, any other platforms like Snapchat, Facebook, etc. If you do not participate in Social Media life, you do not exist. Sounds crazy? Immoral? This young generation is completely out of their minds!

No. Nobody's is crazy. It is just the world we live in. We need to have these different platforms, messengers, apps or whatever. We need to see what is going on with our friends and share our experience too. As if others are interested in our lives. They may not be interested but you have to make them be interested. You have to show them how cool your life is, how much fun you have every day. Selfish? Hypocritical? Possibly. But the problem is not in the fact that no one will believe you that you were in Europe this summer if you do not post a photo of it. The problem is in fact that you do not exist.

Thirty years ago a French philosopher Jean Baudrillard wrote that being connected to the image of yourself on the screen, to your vitality is much more important than possessing it. "I am on the screen therefore I exist," - a slogan of the XXIst century. So, the state of being connected to your own selfie is proof of life in the world of a victorious virtual image. And we need to prove it regularly.
