My First Event At ONU

Last week was filled with various events, the main of which was a Russian party. We were preparing for this party for several weeks, but there were so many things left that we were finishing in the last three days. I was responsible for the design of the posters, the design of the photographs that hung on the walls, for some quizzes and historical and cultural stands. Some of the prizes came all the way from Russia, we spent half of Thursday cooking, did not sleep much but still made it.

Officially, 86 people attended the event during the evening, I think there were a little more as not everyone registered. We were dancing together, playing games, eating pancakes and pies. It was the first event I ever organized on campus. I can’t say it was perfect as I know a lot of details that I would have added to that evening but I thought it was very good. I was surprised that there were a bunch of diverse people who showed up at the party. Almost all my international team came.

I don’t have a lot of photos as I don’t have them yet and I also didn’t take photos because I was busy  organizing some stuff. Nevertheless, I have memories from that evening that I value a lot.

  1. I'm happy to hear that the turn out was even more than you expected! I knew about the event through a friend in my public speaking class, but I unfortunately couldn't make it. I didn't realize you guys put so much time and effort into preparing for the event, that's awesome!

  2. Anna,
I have to admit I didn't expect that much people to show up. The fact that I was on the door checking in people I can confirm it that there were people than 86 because I remember seeing some people who weren't registered by me, or maybe Chris registered them. I don;t know but I know it was a success.
